1.      Expressions dealing with daily activities

Below are some expressions used to asking about daily activities.

-          What do you usually do everyday ?

-          What do you like to do in your spare time ?

-          Do you always get up early in the morning ?

-          Do you like fishing ?

-          Does the boy enjoy playing a kite ?

-          The meeting starts at seven, doesn’t it ?

When you’re asked of your daily activities, you can repond it using the following expression.

-          I usually go to school everyday.

-          I like to watch TV.

-          Yes, I do. I always get up early.

-          Yes, I do.

-          No, he doesn’t.

-          Yes, it does.

2.      Expressions dealing with hobbies and interest

To ask about someone’s hobbies and interest, you can use the following expression.

-          What’s your hobby ?

-          Do you have any hobbies ?

-          Are you interested in playing football ?

-          What kind of subject you are interest in ?

Use the expressions below to respond about hobbies and interest.

-          My hobby is swimming.

-          My hobbies are swimming and singing.

-          Yes, I have some hobbies. They are playing football and hiking.

-          No, I am not. I am interested in playing badminton.

-          I am interested in math.

3.      Expression used in handling guest

These expression are very useful to handle a guest.

-          Good morning/ afternoon/ evening.

-          Welcome to our hotel.

-          What can I do for you, Sir ?

-          Is there anything I can do for you ?

-          Can I help you ?

-          May I help you ?

-          Come in and have a seat, please.

-          What would you like to drink, orange juice or soda ?

-          What would you like to eat ?

-          I hope you enjoy the food ?

-          Would you leave a message ?

-          Wait a minute ?

And some of the response are :

-          Good morning/ afternoon/ evening.

-          Thank you.

-          Orange juice, please.

-          No, thanks.

-          Yes, I have an appointment with Mr. Joe.

-          I want to see manager.
